The Domaine Equis Saint-Joseph 2021 (often labeled under Domaine des Lises) is a refined and mineral-driven Syrah from the Northern Rhône. Produced by Maxime Graillot and Thomas Schmittel, it is known for its purity of fruit and the characteristic elegance derived from granite soils.

Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested and 70% to 100% destemmed to emphasize freshness. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts followed by 12–18 months of aging in older Burgundy barrels or concrete tanks, with very little new oak (approx. 5-10%).

Nose: Intense aromas of ripe blackberry, violet, and cracked black pepper with smoky undertones.

Palate: Elegant and taut with fine-grained tannins, succulent dark cherry flavors, and a distinct mineral freshness that leads to a long, precise finish.

Pairings: Complements grilled lamb, roast beef, game meats like venison, and mushroom-based dishes.
