Domaine Peirazeau is situated in Morey-St-Denis and covers an area of 3.65 ha, with vineyards in some of the most prestigious appellations (originally belonged from the Groffier's family). Laurent Peirazeau works the vines and practices sustainable viticulture, using organic products or biocontrol where possible. Ploughing is limited, weeding is rare and the harvest is completely destemmed, to avoid excess tannin.

Vineyard: The vines in the "Les Hauts Doix" parcel are very old, with half being approximately 70 years old and the other half around 100 years old.

Vinification: The grapes are entirely destemmed to avoid excess tannin, followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks. The wine is aged in oak barrels (around 30% new oak on average) for about 18 months.

Nose: Described as having a fruity and berry-focused aroma with notes of plum and raspberry, alongside hints of spice and oak.

Palate: The palate is noted for being silky, lively, and tasty, with a balance of red fruits, a hint of funk, and good acidity. One reviewer mentions a "jammy but elegant, well balanced raspberry cherry exotic spice coffee cola cedar cassis iron" character.

Grape: Pinot Noir

Region: Burgundy

Rating: Vivino 4.2
