The Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 is a refined and mineral-driven red Burgundy, praised for its elegance, precision, and significant aging potential. This biodynamically farmed wine is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from a prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin vineyard.
Viticulture & Vinification: The domain is certified biodynamic. Grapes are hand-harvested, and the wine is fermented with native yeasts using around 50% whole clusters to enhance aromatics. It is then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, with a modest use of new oak (around 30%).
Nose: Described as initially closed but opens to offer elegant aromas of red cherries, wild strawberry, pomegranate, and forest floor, with hints of clove and floral nuances.
Palate: Medium-bodied and precise, it features sappy red fruit, fine-grained, silky tannins, and a persistent, mineral-driven finish. Reviewers note its excellent balance and purity of fruit.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Region: Burgundy
Rating: JR18, JM95, Jeannie Cho Lee 94, CT94
