The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets wafts from the glass with notes of black cherries, raspberries, dark berries, smoke and spices, its 30% new oak already entirely integrated. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with a chunky, foursquare profile that will reward bottle age. (WA90-92)
Bright ruby colour. Pure and focused red Pinot fruit with flecks of wood smoke on the nose. The palate is pithy and rich, with good bones to build structure. The fruit is airy yet intense, bringing a focused sensation and a classic structure. Fine, with cool, ripe red fruits unfurling through the mid palate, the finish is long and lightly earhty. This is very fine and classically Burgundian with just enough polish.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Region: Burgundy
Rating: WA90-92, Vivino 4.1, CT94.7, JM90
